With the two-day long 1st Eritrean Cycle Festival in Manchester UK, June 2018 will be sensational month for Eritreans. It is historic and lively because of the several sports personalities are taking part such us the “fathers of cycling”, Tekeste Weldu, aka “Gegante”, Salabini, Wedi Arbate, Biniam Berhe, Dawit Mesfun, Halebay, Mekseb Debesay and many Athletes who participated in international cycling tournaments including the Olympic Games. In Africa many who have the knowledge of the sport were driven to acclaim that countries like South Africa, Morocco, Egypt, what have you, were the dominant figures in cycling. But today that perception has become a forgone history. Eritrea is the Powerhouse of the Continent - 8 times Champion of Africa!
