Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Wednesday received Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki.

 According to the official account of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed on Twitter, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi discussed with Asaias Afwerki, the promotion of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries and a number of issues of common concern.

The Ethiopian Prime Minister Abe Ahmed Ali and the Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki signed a historic peace agreement in Jeddah under the auspices of the Saudi monarch. The UAE welcomed the Jeddah Peace Agreement between Eritrea and Ethiopia, which was held  in Saudi Arabia, One of the world's leading diplomatic figures.

Africa is experiencing armed conflicts and tensions, most notably the Ethiopian-Eritrean conflict over a war that broke out between them over a border dispute two decades ago.

 More recently, Ethiopia and Eritrea have officially opened their land border, marking the end of one of the longest military confrontations in Africa.
