Tour of Rwanda (2.1) stage 7: Yakob Debesay wins solo

The young Eritrean rider of only 19 won solo this Saturday the seventh stage of the Tour of Rwanda. Winner less than a month ago of the Tour de l'Espoir in Cameroon with the passage of two stages, Yakob Debesayhas pocketed today his first victory among professionals. He is 21 seconds ahead of the Italian winner of the first stage, Alessandro Fedeli (Delko Marseille) and the young French Adrien Guillonnet (Interpro).

Tour du Rwanda, winning solo for Debesay

The seventh stage of the Tour du Rwanda was disputed on the distance of 84.1 km between Nyamata and Kigali, with the finish line at the end of the pavé wall of 2.2 km at an average gradient of 7.4%. The winner was Jacob Debesay , a young Eritrean who had taken the lead and managed to resist the attempt to return behind him.

Second place at 21 "for Alessandro Fedeli (Delko Marseille), who returns to the podium after the success in the inaugural fraction. He keeps the yellow jersey Merhawi Kudus (Astana Pro Team), but his margin on Rein Taaramäe (Direct Énergie) has now dropped to 13 ".
