When Abraham Ukbagabir, 40, rejected his application for asylum in Sweden, he decided to murder.
He left the office in Arboga to Ikea in Västerås. There he took a kitchen knife from one of the shelves and killed two randomly selected visitors: A mother and her son. Then he cut himself in his stomach.
It was summer 2015. Following the knife killings, Abraham Ukbagabir, who comes from Eritrea, was sentenced to life imprisonment and expulsion.
During his time in prison, the murderer has been moved between different institutions because of the threat to him, and he has been beaten several times by other prisoners.

The Ikea killer: "Shit happens"
In the summer of 2016 he was threatened at Kumlaanstalten and had to be moved to Salberga. In August of the same year, Abraham attacked Ukbagabir there. He was moved to Tidaholm - he was only beaten months later . After that, the double murderer was moved to Hall outside Södertälje, and at the end of 2017 he was moved back to Tidaholm, where he is now sitting.
In an interview with Expressen in early 2018 , he said about the murders:
- Shit happens! I understand it's not a good thing. But I want to forget this.
- It is done. Can't be undone. But that's history.
At the same time, he said he wanted to move to Eritrea, which he also appealed to the government.
"Whatever happens to me in Eritrea, I accept it 100 percent," said Abraham Ukbagabir in early 2018.

Abraham Ukbagabir is warned in prison
Now the Ikea killer is warned in the prison, it appears in documents that Expressen has read. Government papers show that Abraham Ukbagabir refused to work by not going to "assigned employment". It is about the killer not wanting to go to yoga.
“The staff are looking for him and claiming that it is time to go for assigned employment. Abraham Ukbagabir replies that he is not going to go ” , says in the Prison and ProbationService's report.
The Ikea murderer said that he was ill, even though he did not report sickness "according to current regulations".
Therefore, the killer gets a warning.
"Abraham Ukbagabir has previously been guilty of repeated similar misconduct during his enforcement" , writes the Prison and Probation Service and continues:
"Since this is a repeated refusal to participate in assigned employment, Abraham Ukbagabir must be given a warning."
