Why Russia will need to relocate its capital — perhaps to Novosibirsk.

Eric Zuesse (blogs at https://theduran.com/author/eric-zuesse/)

To a large extent, the distinction between ‘defensive’ and ‘offensive’ weapons is propaganda more than it is reality, because most “defensive” weapons can secretly be converted to or quickly replaced by “offensive” ones and might then be used in a blitz attack. Neither Russia nor the U.S. will tolerate that being done to them, and this was the reason behind what happened in the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, on both sides of it. America under Eisenhower had posted nuclear-capable Jupiter missiles in Turkey a mere 1,200 miles away from The Kremlin; the Soviet Union then was about to post its own missiles in Cuba 1,131 miles away from DC; and the secret settlement was for the missiles to be withdrawn on both sides. But this time around, regarding Ukraine instead of Cuba, the U.S. has been angling to post its missiles in Ukraine a mere 317 miles away from The Kremlin; and, so, Russia invaded Ukraine in order to prevent that from happening.

However, on 11 July 2024, the New York Times headlined “Russia Vows ‘Military Response’ to U.S. Missile Deployments in Germany”, and reported that the U.S.-German plan is that, by 2026, ‘defensive’ American missiles will be posted somewhere in Germany (around 900 miles from The Kremlin), and now Russia is already saying that they have “started preparing ‘compensating countermeasures’ in advance.”

Soon, we shall be way beyond what had scared the world half out of its wits in 1962, but voters everywhere (except in Russia) seem not even to care about it today. (How many Americans are at all criticizing both of the major Parties’ candidates for their hostile statements against Russia and China — neither of which nation poses any threat to Americans?) How stupid is that? Or is it merely that the ‘news’-media nowadays aren’t doing anything like the job that they’re expected to be doing (which is to accurately inform the public)?

Even at The Duran, when its Alexander Mercouris headlined on July 14th “US missiles in Germany” and pointed out that in 1983, when Reagan pushed to place hundreds of  Pershing and Cruise nuclear-tipped missiles within a 30-minutes striking-distance from Moscow, and this initiative was halted because of massive peace-protests in Europe, he failed to point out that the U.S. regime’s geostrategy was to checkmate the Soviet Union and so grab it and add it to the U.S. empire. So, not even news-media that are NOT under the control of U.S.-and-‘allied’ billionaires are reporting frankly about how scummy the U.S. Government actually is. I, however, do —  especially because it is my country, which has been taken over by both Democratic and Republican elite gangsters (billionaires, banksters, or whatever else one might call them).

In any case, Russians will need to recognize, very soon, that unless their capital city will become relocated far away from Moscow — toward which NATO has extended its borders closer and closer and will soon be less than a thousand miles away from with its missiles — relocated to or near the center of Russia, such as to Russia’s third-largest city, Novosibirsk, which would be around 2,000 miles away from NATO or from any other U.S. colony (such as South Korea and Japan to the east) the U.S. is likely to become able fairly soon to post its missiles within less than a 30-minute missile-flying-time of blitzing and decapitating Russia’s central command — grabbing Russia. From a national-security standpoint, that is intolerable, and the risk of WW3 has never been as high as it now is.

Already I had headlined on 3 March 2024 “Finland’s New President — a CIA Asset — Invites U.S. Nuclear Missiles Into Finland 500 Miles From Moscow” and reported that Finland’s new

President, Alexander Stubb, who is a CIA asset, took office and delivered his first speech as President, and said to journalists “I would start from the premise that we in Finland must have a real nuclear deterrent, and that's what we have, because NATO practically gives us three deterrences through our membership. … The first is military, i.e. soldiers, the second is missiles, i.e. ammunition, and the third is a nuclear deterrent, which comes from the United States.” He gave as his reasons for Finland's need of that, “Human life does not seem to have any kind of significance to the current Russian leadership.

Finland is only 507 miles away from The Kremlin.

So, the handwriting is on the wall, and it is telling Russians that only by relocating its capital to such a place as Novosibirsk can they finally prevent the hyper-aggressive U.S. empire from coming too close to their central command.

Here is a partial list of capital cities that have already been relocated:

Belize — Belmopan replaced Belize City after a 1961 hurricane destroyed the city.

Kazakhstan — The capital moved from Almaty to Astana in 1997, to decrease the likelihood of any invasion.

Nigeria — Abuja replaced Lagos in 1991 due to Lagos' economic expansion and overpopulation.

Pakistan — Islamabad replaced Karachi in 1959 to represent the country's diverse population.

Brazil — Brasilia replaced Rio de Janeiro in the 1950s.

Ivory Coast — Yamoussoukro replaced Abidjan in 1983 to serve as the economic capital.

Finland — Helsinki replaced Turku in 1812 during the Grand Duchy of Finland.

Indonesia — IKN (Capital City of the Archipelago) in Penajam Paser Utara is under construction to replace Jakarta.

Egypt — A new administrative capital is being built 30 miles east of Cairo on a 270-square-mile area.

Myanmar — Naypyidaw replaced Rangoon (Yangon) in 2005 so as to be safer against a foreign invasion.

Russia — The original capital, Moscow, was switched to St. Petersburg in 1712, then switched back to Moscow in 1918.

Pakistan — During 1959-1961, the capital was moved from Karachi to Islamabad.

U.S. — The U.S. Capitol moved from Philadelphia to Washington DC in 1800.

On 5 April 2023, I headlined “Russia’s only safe response to Finland in NATO is to move Russia’s capital to Novosibirsk” and gave many reasons why that needs to be done. (It should have been done soon after the first of the post-1991 expansions of NATO in 1999.)

Doing this would transform the “Cold War” that we’ve had since 1945, greatly reducing the likelihood of a WW3, and only Russia (which is almost twice as large as the world’s second-largest country) is big enough to do such a thing to protect itself from the ferocious imperial appetite of the world’s most aggressive, most hyper-dangerous, nation, the U.S. Doing this might even force an end to the “Cold War,” peacefully. It might even cause the U.S. stock market (which is so dependent on ‘defense’ stocks) to collapse from the huge decline in ‘Defense’ stocks. And then lots of people who now are making weapons to destroy the world could become freed to make things that will improve the world.

Why hasn’t Putin done this? What is more important to him than Russia’s national security? Probably nothing. So: why hasn’t he already done it? I’d ask him, if I could.

Investigative historian Eric Zuesse’s latest book, AMERICA’S EMPIRE OF EVIL: Hitler’s Posthumous Victory, and Why the Social Sciences Need to Change, is about how America took over the world after World War II in order to enslave it to U.S.-and-allied billionaires. Their cartels extract the world’s wealth by control of not only their ‘news’ media but the social ‘sciences’ — duping the public.
