CAIRO – 8 August 2024: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Eritrea’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Osman Saleh Mohammed met in Egypt on Thursday, discussing issues and threats concerning the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea.

Sisi and Mohammed reiterated the commitment of Egypt and Eritrea to maintain coordination across various levels to bolster regional security and stability.

During the meeting, Sisi received a written message from Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki, expressing gratitude for Sisi and the bilateral relations between the two nations.

The message also conveyed Eritrea’s keenness to enhance coordination and consultations with Egypt regarding issues of mutual concern.

Sisi emphasized Egypt’s dedication to strengthening the exceptional relations and collaboration with Eritrea, in a way that benefits both populations and achieves their shared interests amid escalating regional challenges.
