How Libertarians Lie About Assigning Blame

Libertarians (that’s to say, fundamentalists for ‘the free market’, and against any constructive positive role for Government — such as their disfavoring the Government’s provisioning of services regarding health, education, and welfare, that are independent of the recipient’s ability to pay for it — i.e., libertarians are against funding those through the general taxes instead of as private fee-for-service) lie about many things, but especially they lie by blaming the deficiencies in our current government, upon ‘Marxists’, as-if ALL leftists are necessarily communists and necessarily opposed to having “free markets” in some parts of the nation’s economy.
One recent example of their lying about this is from Charles “Cully” Stimson of the far-right Heritage Foundation, headlining in the libertarian periodical Imprimus, in March 2024, “Rogue Prosecutors and the Rise of Crime”. He writes there that during the period from 1985 to 2015, U.S. Attorneys
played a critical role in driving down crime rates, which peaked in 1992, by prosecuting violent criminals, while at the same time creating thousands of alternatives to incarceration, such as drug courts, domestic violence courts, mental health courts, and other highly successful programs.
That changed in 2015 with the launching of the George Soros-funded “progressive prosecutor” movement. This movement is animated by two beliefs. The first is that the entire criminal justice system is systemically racist. The second is that the only way to fix the system is to dismantle it by replacing law-and-order district attorneys with pro-criminal and anti-police district attorneys. The sick irony of this movement is that in the areas where it has prevailed, the most harm has been done to the racial minorities whose interests it purports to represent.
Origins of the Movement
The progressive prosecutor movement — more accurately called the rogue prosecutor movement — is the predictable outgrowth of efforts by earlier Marxist radicals to alter or destroy the American way of life. At its root is the belief that our country and its institutions, including capitalism, are racist. At its root is the belief that our country and its institutions , including capitalism, are racist. [He specifically condemned the “Black Lives Matter” movement as being “Marxist.”] …
His allegation that the U.S. billionaire George Soros is “Marxist” is a boiler-plate lie from libertarians and other right-wingers, but there is no evidence whatsoever that Soros is or ever was a Marxist. Quite the contrary, in fact: Starting in 1979, first with Poland, and then with the other communist nations in Europe, Soros poured billions of dollars into ending communism there and breaking them away from Russia — he probably did more than any other single individual did, to expedite the break-up and end of the communist Soviet Union. Furthermore, once that was done and Russia itself ended its communism in 1991, Soros has relentlessly funded and propagandized against Russia’s Government when Putin came into power there in 2000 and Russia’s economy boomed since that time. Moreover, once Soros’s U.S. Presidential candidate, Barack Obama, overthrew and replaced Ukraine’s previously neutralist Government with substantial financial backing for the scheme on the part of Soros’s International Renaissance Foundation, Soros has been consistently urging the U.S. and European Governments to donate billions more than they have been donating to Ukraine’s efforts against Russia. So, apparently, Soros’s anti-Marxism has also been anti-Russian. But he certainly has been one of the world’s major individuals at bringing an end to Marxism. This is the opposite of what Stimson wrote.
Furthermore: Stimson’s attributing to Karl Marx the social movements against racism, (such as “Black Lives Matter”) is likewise false. Karl Marx was himself a racist, and never wrote against racism.
Another example of the common libertarian lies that blame “Marxists” for anti-racism, is an article from the libertarian financial news-and-commentary site Zero Hedge, which headlines today on October 5th, “Katrina-Like Disaster Unfolds For Biden-Harris As New Round Of Tropical Trouble Takes Aim At Florida”, and it says: “The Biden-Harris team of far-left radicals is overwhelmed by the growing list of disasters. Another hurricane to hit the US Southeast, or if WW3 erupted in the Middle East, would prove devastating because the people in charge are not actually leaders but, instead, Marxist propagandists.” Biden and Harris are definitely NOT Marxists but instead fascists (though of the liberal variety, like Obama and the Clintons, not of the conservative variety, like Trump, McCain, and the Bushes), and — despite liars such as the libertarian philosopher Friedrich von Hayek — communism is NOT the same ideology as fascism. The common lie among libertarians that alleges capitalistic dictatorships (fascisms such as Mussolini’s, Hitler's, and today’s America) to be no different from communist dictatorships (such as the Soviet Union was), needs to be called-out, because (like ANY lie) it’s false. And that’s just a historical fact. Communism and fascism are different types of dictatorships, and this doesn’t mean that they are the same thing. Only liars and fools allege them to be the same thing. So, anyone who says that they’re the same is simply displaying oneself to be a liar or else a fool. The problems of capitalism are not the problems of socialism — and especially not the problems of democratic socialism — regardless of what hucksters say.
The fact of the matter is that communism has no possibility of taking over in America, but fascism already did take over here, on 25 July 1945, and both of America’s political Parties are fascist — neither of them is, at all, communist, but what they both are is the very opposite of democratic, because we have a two-Party, one-system, fascist Government. It’s documented right there.
