SHAMELESS LIES by the U.S. Government & Its Stenographic ‘News’ Media

Do you remember the ‘news’ reports in late October 2024, right before the U.S. Presidential election, such as “Chinese hackers targeted phones affiliated with Harris campaign, source says” (Reuters), “What to Know About the Chinese Hackers Who Targeted the 2024 Campaigns” (New York Times), “Salt Typhoon Hacks of Telecommunications Companies and Federal Response Implications” (U.S. Congressional Research Service), “Chinese hackers targeted Trump and Vance’s phone data” (CNN), and many others?
Well, on January 1st of 2025, the high-tech-news site “The Verge” headlined “US soldier arrested after allegedly posting hacked Trump and Harris call logs / The soldier is reportedly connected to a hacking alias that was offering to sell stolen data from the Snowflake breach.” The site’s Executive Editor Jacob Kastrenakis reported that “The United States has arrested a US Army soldier and charged him with being part of a hacking scheme to sell and distribute stolen phone records. An indictment alleges that 20-year-old Cameron John Wagenius knowingly sold ‘confidential phone records’ over online forums and other communications platforms last November.”
Allegedly, Wagenius was connected to a hacker called “Kiberphant0m,” which “claimed to have hacked 15 telecom firms and was working with the person allegedly behind the Snowflake data breach to sell the stolen information.” The cybersecurity firm KrebsOnSecurity had headlined on 30 December 2024 “U.S. Army Soldier Arrested in AT&T, Verizon Extortions” and reported that
Federal authorities have arrested and indicted a 20-year-old U.S. Army soldier on suspicion of being Kiberphant0m [actually lower-case “kiberphant0m”], a cybercriminal who has been selling and leaking sensitive customer call records stolen earlier this year from AT&T and Verizon. As first reported by KrebsOnSecurity last month, the accused is a communications specialist who was recently stationed in South Korea.
Cameron John Wagenius was arrested near the Army base in Fort Hood, Texas on Dec. 20, after being indicted on two criminal counts of unlawful transfer of confidential phone records.
The sparse, two-page indictment (PDF) doesn’t reference specific victims or hacking activity, nor does it include any personal details about the accused. But a conversation with Wagenius’ mother — Minnesota native Alicia Roen — filled in the gaps.
Roen said that prior to her son’s arrest he’d acknowledged being associated with Connor Riley Moucka, a.k.a. “Judische,” a prolific cybercriminal from Canada who was arrested in late October for stealing data from and extorting dozens of companies that stored data at the cloud service Snowflake. …
Immediately after news broke of Moucka’s arrest, Kiberphant0m posted on the hacker community BreachForums what they claimed were the AT&T call logs for President-elect Donald J. Trump and for Vice President Kamala Harris.
“In the event you do not reach out to us @ATNT all presidential government call logs will be leaked,” Kiberphant0m threatened, signing their post with multiple “#FREEWAIFU” tags. “You don’t think we don’t have plans in the event of an arrest? Think again.”
That kiberphant0m posting at BreachForums, on 5 November 2024, had headlined “NSA - NSAS Spy Schema from Snowflake (#FREEWAIFU),” and said “Enjoy the data schema from the NSA which spies on literally all American citizens, who knows what else. This was obtained from the ATNT [AT&T] Snowflake hack which is why ATNT paid an extortion. They wanted to keep the NSA data a secret. Why would ATNT pay Waifu for the data when they wouldn’t even pay an extortion for over 20M+ SSN’s? Ask yourself that question. … piss on the gov”
On January 2nd of 2025, Ruper Murdoch’s New York Post — the same vehicle that on 15 October 2020 had headlined “Emails reveal how Hunter Biden tried to cash in big on behalf of family with Chinese firm” (and apparently both Hunter and Joe Biden DID “cash in” big on at least their Ukrainian operation) and which all U.S. media hushed-up (ridiculed, or else refused to report on at all) but could not refute — the New York Post headlined “US Army soldier allegedly linked to hacked Trump, Harris phone records charged by feds” and reported that though Wagenius a.k.a. “kiberphant0m” was at the former Fort Hood in Texas, he would be extradited to be tried at a court in Seattle. (No explanation was given for that.)
A much lengthier report also on January 2nd, was Gateway Pundit’s “U.S. Army Soldier Arrested for Allegedly Hacking Trump and Kamala Harris’s Phones, Selling ‘Confidential Phone Records’ Online”.
However, none of the many American ‘news’-reports about the Wagenius-“kiberphant0m” case made any note of the possibility that maybe China hadn’t been involved at all in the alleged hacks into the Presidential campaigns of Trump and of Harris. But, then, on January 3rd of 2025, the anonymous great independent German anti-Establishment investigative journalist who blogs as the “Moon of Alabama” headined “Indictment Debunks China Hacking Claim”, and argued that that was the case here — a case of U.S. Government lying, and U.S. media stenographically reporting those lies as-if true, and now were hiding that there is any connection even POSSIBLE between the Wagenius-“kiberphant0m” news-reports, and the earlier ‘news’-reports that had trumpeted the U.S. Government’a allegations against China as-if those earlier reports were true. He noted that, “To conclude though that some specific actor, for example China, has done such requires some evidence. None of the October reports contained any. The claims of Chinese involvement were solely based on U.S. government sources.” It was stenographic ‘news’-reporting.
Similarly, the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003 was based entirely on U.S. lies, and so too is the U.S. allegation that the war in Ukraine was started by aggression by Russia on 24 February 2022, instead of by aggression by U.S. on 20 February 2014 — which latter is the overwhelmingly documented fact of the matter. At least in modern times, one won’t find the truth about the U.S. Government, or about international relations of any sort, from U.S. — and ESPECIALLY NOT from mainstream U.S. — ‘news’-media.
The credibility of the U.S. Government, and of its ‘news’-media, is long-since shot. Only fools believe them any more. These media are propaganda-media, NOT news-media. They propagandize for U.S. conquest (invasions, coups, sanctions, etc.) against their targeted countries to conquer so as to add to the U.S. empire (‘The West’). All U.S. education is trash if it does not — from kindergarten up through the Ph.D. level — acknowledge this tragic fact. Because it IS a fact of history. The mythology to the contrary of it is trash.
