The Democratic Party’s Campaign to Force Trump’s Presidency to the Far-Right

Trump has appointed the progressive Democrat RFK Jr. as the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services (“HHS,” which includes the FDA), and the progressive Democrat Tulsi Gabbard as the Director of Central Intelligence (“DCI,” the person who produces the President’s Daily Brief summarizing the latest important findings from the 17 U.S. Intelligence Agencies — the chief person informing the President about international relations), and the Senate Democrats are unified to vote against confirming them to those positions — to forcing Trump to rely ONLY upon Republican Senators (his own Party) in order to be able to appoint replacements for each of those two positions (perhaps the two most potent positions in his Administration).

The Secretary of Health and Human services heads all but the “Education” portfolio of the former “Department of Health, Education, and Welfare”; and, so, administers not only all of the U.S. Government’s legally authorized involvement in the public’s health care, but also the “Welfare” function for the poor. So, it’s a huge portfolio.

If the Democratic Party will succeed at coercing Trump to select for those two positions ONLY far-rightwingers, such as the notoriously neoconservative Mike Pompeo a first-Trump-term DCI, and such as the quietly libertarian-neoliberal Tom Price, a first-Trump-term HHS chief, then Trump’s second term will probably end up being much like what his first term was, which was lousy, like all other Presidents since at least the year 2000 have been.

RFK Jr., as a lifelong progressive, has advocated for healthcare-for-all (“Medicare-for All” as a basic human right, that is no longer dependent upon any ability-to-pay),  and his predecessor in the Kennedy family for that ideology was Senator Ted Kennedy, whom Obama — the most skilled liar in all of U.S. Presidential history — passed over to write the Obamacare bill, in favor of handing that crucial task to the conservative pro-privatization Democratic Senator Max Baucus, who produced Obama’s “Affordable Care Act” so as for Obama to avoid healthcare-for-all and to avoid even the “public option” that Obama had publlcly campaigned (and won office) on. Ted Kennedy was the real deal on that (like he was on enforcing the U.S. Supreme Court’s Brown versus Board of Education desegregation decision, which Senator Biden led Senate Democrats to join with all Republicans AGAINST enforcing it — and so that Court decision was shamefully never implemented).

On January 9th, the Democratic Party billionaires-funded “Daily Beast” propaganda-site headlined “‘Actively Dangerous’: RFK Jr. Confirmation Faces Opposition From 15K Doctors”, and reported that “More than 15,000 doctors urged the Senate not to confirm Robert Kennedy Jr. as the secretary of Health and Human Services in an open letter Thursday.” That letter was actually signed ONLY by Rob Davidson, the Executive Director of the ‘Committee to Protect Health Care’. He’s an emergency-room doctor. who claims to support “universal health care and Medicare-for-All.” (Obama had made that same claim for himself.) The letter that Davidson signed does now (allegedly, but not listed, the other alleged signers are all secret — the solicitation-to-sign promised its recipients “This information will not be published publicly in any form” — and so only lying media are trusting it enough to publish that anti-RFK Jr. propaganda at all) have around 20,000 physicians as co-signers, which just goes to show that at least allegedly 20,000 physicians want RFK Jr. to be replaced by the usual healthcare-industries agent overseeing the ‘regulation’ of hospitals, drugs, foods, etc. Perhaps there actually are a lot of emergency-room doctors who want to continue the present U.S. system of relying upon healthcare emergencies, instead of upon actual public health, in order to determine their remuneration. Maybe that, the existing system, is more profitable — but it is toxic public policy, as is proven by the relevant international statistics: see here and here and here, and finally here (the actual estimated healthcare ratings of the world’s countries). Americans are constantly and systematically being poisoned by ‘our’ Government, and lying media are essential to how it’s being done.

Also on January 9th, the Democratic and Labour-Party billionaires-funded Guardian propaganda-site headlined “How worried should we be about RFK Jr as health secretary? Ask Florida” and assumed that RFK’s “anti-vax” policy would be the same as the far-rightwing Florida Republican Governor DeSantis’s state Surgeon General’s anti-vaccination policies have been — which is ludicrous. Then on January 14th, the Daily Beast headlined “RFK Jr. Admits He Didn’t Come Clean on Anti-Vax Fortune”, which assumed that Kennedy was lying to call a previous number incomplete and correct it now as having been an oversight on his part instead of having been an attempt to deceive Trump and the public (as that propaganda-site assumes it to have been).

Then on January 17th, the Daily Beast and Yahoo News headlined “Aaron Rodgers Sends Warning to Senate on RFK Jr. Confirmation” and reported that “‘You better come ready senators, come ready and try and see if you can pull one over on my boy, Bobby, because Bobby’s f---ing smart, dude, [the quarterback] Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show.” The “Warning” headline was crafted as it was, so as to convey to the many (and the majority of all) individuals who will see and read ONLY the headline, a negative image of RFK Jr. That’s a common tactic of propaganda ‘news’ (exploiting the fact that far more people read the headline than will read the actual ‘news’-report). It is an important tactic to subliminally convey a false impression and so amplify a useful prejudice within the population, so as to mentally manipulate the population’s political responses, in order to control the political result. The billionaires control enough organizations so that however much money is needed in order to win at this, achieve the political result they want, they can do it. Against them will only be the other political Parties’ billionaires; but the winners will always be billionaires, regardless, because only billionaires (and a few centi-millionaires) can compete on that level. A Government like this was called by Mussolini “fascist” or (synonymously) “corporationist” — and he led the first one of this type.

This is how things are done in a fake ‘democracy’ where public opinion is shaped more by the expenditures from billionaires than by the real-world reality. Scholars refer to that (without clearly explaining how it works) as “managed consent.” (Precisely who is doing that “management” and how they do it, is not specified.)

Tulsi Gabbard is likewise receiving intensely hostile treatment from the U.S.-and-allied press. Like RFK Jr., she has been critical against the military-industrial complex and U.S. foreign policies that are designed to increase the sales of weapons that are manufactured in America (and thus to favor increased spending on the military, which buys those weapons).

Currently, the Democratic Party, including all of its U.S. Senators, is pushing for continued and increased privatization of not merely health care but the military, so that all of it will be even more controlled by its billionaires than it already is. That has been a traditional Republican position; and the Establishment (the billionaires and their agents) (otherwise called “the Deep State”) is going all-out to prevent Trump from doing anything against it. That is a far-right position — NOT a leftist or social-democratic position, at all (though the billionaires’ ‘news’-media portray it as-if it is “Big Government” or even “Socialistic” (without clearly defining their terms). Of course, Trump himself, in his first term, was serving those people (the billionaires). And they want him to do so again, like Biden, Obama, the Bushes, Clinton, Carter, Reagan, Ford, and Nixon, also did. It has been the American system, actually, ever since 25 July 1945. From the time of Reagan onwards, it became intensified even more than it had been during 1945 to 1980.
