Algerian Hamza Yacine (Team Madar Pro-Cycling) won the third stage of the Tour of Algeria (TAC-2025), held on Tuesday between Sétif and Batna over a distance of 130.6 km, thus retaining the leader's yellow jersey.
The 27-year-old Algerian once again demonstrated his athletic power in the sprint, going for his third stage victory on the TAC-2025, crossing the finish line in a time of 2h53.32, ahead of the Eritrean Maekele Milkiyas and the Kazakh Yevgini Gidich of the Chinese team "Team China Glory", credited with the same time.
At the end of this 3rd stage, Yacine Hamza retained the yellow leader's jersey, the green jersey for best sprinter, the red jersey for best Algerian, as well as the blue jersey for stage winner.
The polka dot jersey for the best climber remained on the shoulders of the Eritrean Berhane Hebron, while the Eritrean, Maekele Milkiyas, kept the white jersey for the best hope (U23).
On Wednesday, the fourth stage of the TAC-2025 will take the peloton from Batna to Biskra over a distance of 156.3 km.
Included in the calendar of the Africa Tour of the International Cycling Union (UCI), the 2025 Tour of Algeria and the three Grand Prix, placed under the control of a college of race commissaires, chaired by the Belgian Patrick Demunter, will be an important stage in collecting points in preparation for the 2025 Road World Championships, scheduled for the first time on the African continent, in Rwanda.
