Asmara 10-4-2025 (SUNA) - The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, arrived today in the Eritrean capital, Asmara, on an official visit.

He was received at Asmara International Airport by President Isaias Afwerki and members of the Sudanese mission to Eritrea, and an official reception ceremony was held for the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council.

The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council will hold talks with President Isaias Afwerki on ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and advance them to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples, in addition to issues of common interest.

The Council Chairman is accompanied during the visit by the Director of the General Intelligence Service, Lieutenant General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal.
