The Satanic Circular
This title has been coined by me as an euphemism for the malicious diplomatic document produced by the Ethiopian government in respect of the illegal sanction on Eritrea in 2009. The official title of the document is to be seen on the metadata of the document itself.
Nonetheless and at the outset, I want to make it crystal clear that the purpose for posting this document is NEITHER to provoke feelings of emotional anger and hatred NOR to undermine the evolving peaceful coexistence ( with all its principles) between the people of Eritrea and Tigray. The ZMDO initiative is holly and unique because the aggrieved people own the life of its trajectory. Evidence based wisdom is as powerful as mighty truth.
However be that as it may, we often hear the majority of Tigrean activists and journalists allege and accuse Eritrea for committing crimes against Tigray much of which is unsubstantiated.
This is while absolutely and deliberately glossing over acknowledging the wrongs and injustices committed by Tigray against Eritrea. This is not only unfair but also unhelpful for the ongoing peace initiative. I must also emphasize that Neither is it meant to be a new accusation, but a clear evidence to the harm done to peace loving Eritrea.Evidence based wisdom is as powerful as mighty ruth.
Let me be clear once again , the fundamental purpose for posting this document is to urge the Tigrean elites to see for themselves the extent to which Ethiopia as led and dominated by the then Tigrean political leadership, went beyond measurable distance to harm and destroy Eritrean nationhood.
The deliberate aim of this document was to isolate Eritrea diplomatically and to decapacitate her economically by ensuring that the illegally imposed sanction is effective and implemented vigorously. By pursuing such malicious act, the then Ethiopian government was intent on reversing Eritrean independence and sovereignty with the hidden agenda to annex the Eritrean Red Sea Port of Asseb. What can be more disgraceful malice than this.
I also want to clearly state that the document is being posted in its entirety and original state and without any edition whatsoever. I hope all those Tigreans who have been accusing Eritrea exclusively, will come to the realisation that it is incumbent upon them to accept and acknowledge that Eritrea has been wronged even more. It is my considered view that ideally and at a later stage, deep and honest self-appraisal in relation to any veracious wrongdoing is desirable and appropriately constructive. For now , let us cease the moment and do our part in whatever capacity to energize the progressing and forward looking ZMDO!
