September 28, 2025 | By Lolli Memorial Press Office
The women's race, held in a single heat before the top men's race, was equally high-quality. The Eritrean athlete Rahel Daniel Ghebreyoannes prevailed with a time of 15.46, preceding Giulia Aprile in 15.51 and Federica Zanne in 16.05, both athletes of the GS Esercito;
Great quality and growing numbers at this 5km race, which consolidates all its excellence in specialty road races.

September 27, 2025. It's no longer news, because in Zola Predosa the pace gets faster every year. Some numbers clearly demonstrate this, let's take the main ones: 25 athletes ran under 15 minutes (16 in 2024), while four ran under 14 minutes, compared to two in the previous edition. Eight women ran under 17 minutes (three in 2024) and two under 16 (none in 2024).

In the men's race, Francesco Guerra (CS Carabinieri) won and set a new race record, his time of 13:32 also marking a new personal best (previous Lille 2025, 13:42). After a long and exciting sprint, he edged out Uganda's Samuel Simba Cherop (13:34). Pasquale Selvarolo, a member of the Fiamme Azzurre, also put in an excellent performance, setting a new personal best of 13:39, significantly improving on his previous time of 14:01, set here in 2023.

The women's race, which saw many top-level athletes on the start line, ultimately went to Eritrean Rahel Daniel Gebreyohannes. After her victory in the recent Udine half marathon (1:13.46), she successfully attempted a shorter distance, finishing in 15:46. Close behind was middle-distance runner Giulia Aprile (CS Esercito), who, on her debut in this specialty, achieved an excellent time of 15:51. Her teammate Federica Zanne completed the podium with a time of 16:05. Giulia Vettor (Cus Parma) finished seventh, not so much or only for her finishing position, but because she has achieved three personal bests in the last three weeks: 1:14.15 (Copenhagen half marathon), 34:32 (10 km Martinengo), and now 16:37 (5 km Zola).

The overall numbers have grown significantly, from 116 in the first edition to 182 in 2024, up to 256 this year. These numbers are also growing thanks to the amateur world, athletes who know they will find the Memorial Lolli the ideal conditions to improve.

Another important merit of this organization, the Lolli Auto ASD, is that it introduced youth sector races for the first time, which served as a prelude to the adult and elite races. There were as many as 70 young athletes in the novice and cadet categories.

A huge thank you to the entire Lolli family. Bruno was definitely watching from up there.
