COLUMBUS — Columbus police shot and killed a suspect after he reportedly stabbed four people, leaving three dead and one injured at a Columbus apartment complex Monday morning.

 

According to our partners at 10tv, officers responded to the complex on Walford Street on a reported stabbing just after 9 a.m. and found three women stabbed inside the apartment.

 




 

Two women were transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital and both died from their injuries. A third woman was taken to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and remains in critical condition.

 

Police found a male victim near the scene with stab wounds who was later pronounced dead.

 

Officers located a male suspect in the yard of the apartment complex. Columbus Police say the officers tased and shot the suspect. He was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

 

Two babies were in the home at the time of the stabbings, but were unharmed in the attack, according to police.

 

Investigators have not yet released the names of any of the people involved or their relationships to each other.

Police identify suspect, three victims killed in officer-involved shooting Monday night

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus Police have identified a suspect and three victims in an officer-involved shooting on Walford Street Monday.

 

 

Police say the suspect, who died, is 64-year-old Abadi Gedregziber of Columbus.

 

 

Police tell NBC4 officers were called to a home in the 4300 block of Walford Street around 9am Monday on a report of a stabbing.

 

 

The officers entered the residence and found three people stabbed inside. Two of the female victims, 33-year-old Azeb Demewez and 18-year-old Selam Habte, were pronounced dead at a local hospital.

 

 

A third stabbing victim, 51-year-old Alganesh Gebrezgabiher, is in life-threatening condition as of Wednesday morning.

 

 

Witnesses say the officers confronted Abadi Gedregziber with a knifeoutside of the residence. Police tell NBC4 the officers on scene were ultimately forced to shoot him. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
