The Minister of Business and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso , met in Asmara with a delegation of the Italian community present in Eritrea. The meeting, which took place at the residence of the Italian ambassador in Villa Roma, was attended by the Eritrean government ministers for Foreign Affairs, Industry and Commerce, Agriculture, Education, Tourism and the Environment. , Energy and Health, the Commissioner for Culture and Sports, as well as the Political Advisor and the Economic Advisor to President Afwerki.
The meeting follows the summit between Urso and President Isaias Afwerki, 5 ministers of the Eritrean government, and a delegation of large Italian companies made up of representatives of Enel Grids & Innovability, Polo Fincantieri Infrastrutture, Ferrovie dello Stato, Bonifiche Ferraresi and the head of telemedicine of the “Agostino Gemelli” Polyclinic.
“ As hoped for by President Afwerki, the Italian government is absolutely available to reach a real strategic partnership, with mutual commitments, to immediately build a more solid relationship of cooperation between our countries: a win-win partnership between Italy and Eritrea, inspired by the example of Enrico Mattei, which can be useful to the Horn of Africa region and an example for the entire African continent " is what Urso stated.
Urso's international mission in Eritrea continues today in Massawa, where the potential of the local port and airport infrastructures will be examined, with the aim of strengthening the direct transport routes of people and goods between Italy and the African country.
Today's visit to Massawa concludes Minister Urso's three days in Eritrea. Appointed by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Urso met President Isaias Afwerki and ten ministers of the Eritrean government: a clear signal of the importance that Eritrea and President Afwerki have attributed to the first mission of a minister of the Meloni government in the country .
