MOSCOW, /TASS/. Russian Deputy Defense Minister Colonel General Alexander Fomin met in Moscow with Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Field Marshal Byrhanu Julla Gelelcha. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"A working meeting was held in Moscow between Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation Colonel General A. V. Fomin and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Field Marshal B. J. Gelalcha. The negotiations were also attended by State Secretary - Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia Lieutenant General M. V. Babich, Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia A. G. Punchuk and Deputy General Director of JSC Rosoboronexport S. F. Ladygin," the statement said.

It is noted that the parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation in the military and military-technical spheres, and also exchanged views on a number of topics in the field of defense and security of mutual interest. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of previously reached agreements and the prospects for expanding partnership in various areas of military cooperation.
