Trump is DANGEROUSLY stupid, leading to wars.
3 August 2025, by Eric Zuesse. (All of my recent articles can be seen here.)
Trump is not reading his Daily Intelligence Briefs that he receives from his Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard (summarizing the findings of all 17 U.S. intelligence agencies), but instead he receives his ‘information’ from his friends and others (such as Lindsey Graham) who share his prejudices, such as believing his equation of anti-Israel with anti-Semitic (anti-Jew), as-if ALL Jews support Israel, which is stupid, and not ONLY a false belief. Trump’s abysmal stupidity is leading the U.S. into war against not only Iran, but also Russia. He surrounds himself almost exclusively with neocons, and always comes around to their views — despite what the facts are.

I have just been informed that almost 20,000 Russian soldiers died this month in the ridiculous War with Ukraine. Russia has lost 112,500 soldiers since the beginning of the year. That is a lot of unnecessary DEATH! Ukraine, however, has also suffered greatly. They have lost approximately 8,000 soldiers since January 1, 2025, and that number does not include their missing. Ukraine has also lost civilians, but in smaller numbers, as Russian rockets crash into Kyiv, and other Ukrainian locales. This is a War that should have never happened — This is Biden’s War, not “TRUMP’s.” I’m just here to see if I can stop it!

He was never against Obama’s starting the war in Ukraine in 2014 by Obama's bloody coup that replaced the democratically elected neutralist Ukrainian President and installed a rabidly anti-Russian regime there, which promptly ignited the war in Ukraine. Then, when Trump came in following Obama in 2017, he did NOTHING to stop that war (“Biden’s war, not ‘TRUMP’s,” as he lyingly calls that war which Obama had started); he even sent Javelin missiles to Ukraine to assist the Obama-installed Ukrainian regime to conquer its breakaway provinces. He is every bit as much a U.S. imperialist (“neocon”) as Biden, Obama, and George W. Bush were. He just lies about it, and only fools can believe his lies, which are so blatant. And, furthermore, despite his having a Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard who tries to tell him the truth every day, he refuses to believe what she tells him — even on the rare instances when he hears on Fox News etc. what she has said publicly.
He doesn’t indicate whether Gabbard had told him that Russia is losing the war in Ukraine, but she almost certainly did NOT say anything of the kind, because on other occasions Trump has simply dismissed what she had told him. And, by contrast to what Trump said there ( “Russia has lost 112,500 soldiers since the beginning of the year. …Ukraine … have lost approximately 8,000 soldiers since January 1,” and “Ukraine has also lost … but in smaller numbers”), the best public analyst on major current wars is the retired CIA analyst Larry C. Johnson, and here is the information that he has provided on this matter:

“Debunking the Ukrainian Claim About Russian Casualties”

The tired meme that Russia has suffered more than a million casualties is being repeated ad nauseam by Donald Trump, the media and members of Congress. This propaganda campaign is still being used to convince the public that Ukraine has a fighting chance against Russia. But it is a lie. I am going to use the data comparing artillery shells fired by Ukraine with those fired by Russia for the period 2022 – 2024. Why artillery? Because that weapon is a major source of casualties on both sides. The other major cause of deaths and wounds are drone attacks. For the purpose of this article, I will focus only on artillery.
I asked “DeepSeek” and “ChatGPT” this question: How many artillery rounds did Ukraine fire in 2022, 2023 and 2024? I asked the same question about Russian fires. (The AI programs list Pentagon/NATO reports, RUSI/ISW analyses, and media reports as the sources for this data.) Here are the results:
Estimated Rounds Fired in 2022:
In 2022, Ukraine faced significant artillery ammunition shortages, but still managed to fire an estimated 3,000 to 7,000 rounds per day at peak periods, depending on the phase of the war.
Estimated Rounds Fired in 2023:
Estimated Artillery Usage in 2024
In 2024, Ukraine’s artillery usage was significantly constrained due to ammunition shortages and supply-chain challenges.
In March 2024, estimates indicated that Russian forces were firing approximately 10,000 artillery shells per day, while Ukrainian forces managed around 2,000 per day, highlighting a significant disparity in artillery capabilities.
In 2024, Russian forces fired an estimated 12 to 17 million artillery shells in Ukraine. This figure reflects a significant escalation in artillery usage compared to previous years.
Here are the ratios by year comparing Russian artillery barrages to those of Ukraine:
2022, Russia vs Ukraine — 7 to 1.
2023, Russia vs Ukraine — 4 to 1.
2024, Russia vs Ukraine — 23 to 1.
When you include Russian aerial strikes with glide bombs (i.e., FABS), multiple rocket launchers (MLRS), cruise and ballistic missiles, the likelihood of disproportionate casualties on the Ukrainian side of the line is irrefutable.
Russia has suffered casualties, but a fraction of those inflicted on the Ukrainians. MediaZona offers the best estimate of Russia KIA because they collect and analyze death notices from all of the Russian republics. This is data, not opinion. According to MediaZona, an estimated 165,000 Russian soldiers have died in combat or from wounds incurred in combat. Ukraine, by contrast, has lost more than a million men — some estimates are as high as 1.5 million dead. These numbers are consistent with the ratios of artillery fire (and yes, I am assuming that a shell fired by each side has an equal chance of killing or maiming soldiers on the other side).
Five months into 2025, the disparity remains… Ukraine is firing an average of 5,000 per day compared to Russia firing an average of 30,000 per day. Ukraine, even with unfettered support of NATO countries, cannot match Russia. Here is what NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte, told the NATO Ministers of Defense in February:
“We will discuss today the defence industrial base and how to produce more. We are not producing enough. And this is a collective problem we have, from the US up to and including Türkiye, and including the whole European Union, Norway, UK, we have fantastic defence industries, but we are not producing enough,” Rutte said.
The alliance’s Secretary General emphasized that NATO does not produce enough weapons compared to Moscow.
“No, I wanted to say Russia is producing in three months in ammunition, what the whole of the Alliance is producing in the year, and this is simply not sustainable. We have to ramp up the defense industry production,” NATO Secretary General stressed.
The disparity between Russian fires and Ukrainian fires explains why Ukraine’s losses are so high. It is a simple question of math.

Furthermore, in all Ukraine-Russia soldier prisoner-exchanges (including corpses), Russia has been returning to Ukraine far more corpses than Ukraine has been returning to Russia. Typical is this one on June 11th:

Trump believes that supplying more weapons to Ukraine will help Ukraine win this war; so, he continues Biden’s Ukraine policy — instead of stopping those weapons-supplies and so allowing Russia to end the war — and its killing — quickly. He lies to say “I’m just here to see if I can stop it!” And only a fool would believe that Russia is suffering more casualties than Russia is, and that supplying more weapons to Ukraine will reduce — instead of increase — the amount of corpses in this war (that Obama created).
We also have a U.S. President, Donald Trump, who (like his immediate predecessor Joe Biden, held and — like Trump — has enforced that same equation of anti-Israel as being anti-Jew, and who therefore) pours more U.S. weapons into Israel to exterminate the Gazans, and who even publicly endorses Israel’s illegal unprovoked 13 June 2025 invasion of Iran to overthrow Iran’s Government. On June 17th, the AP headlined “US spies said Iran wasn’t building a nuclear weapon. Trump dismisses that assessment”, and reported that Trump’s own appointed top person in the U.S. Intelligence Community of 17 separate Intelligence Agencies, the person who writes and provides to him the “PDB” or President’s Daily Brief from all of those Agencies:
Tulsi Gabbard left no doubt when she testified to Congress about Iran’s nuclear program earlier this year.
The country was not building a nuclear weapon, the national intelligence director told lawmakers, and its supreme leader had not reauthorized the dormant program even though it had enriched uranium to higher levels.
But President Donald Trump dismissed the assessment of U.S. spy agencies during an overnight flight back to Washington as he cut short his trip to the Group of Seven summit to focus on the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.
“I don’t care what she said,” Trump told reporters. In his view, Iran was “very close” to having a nuclear bomb.
Trump’s statement aligned him with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has described a nuclear-armed Iran as an imminent threat, rather than with his own top intelligence adviser. …
In her March testimony to lawmakers, Gabbard said the intelligence community “continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Khamenei has not authorized the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003.”
On THAT basis (Trump’s fraudulently alleging that Iran posed an imminent nuclear-weapons “threat” to what is actually the international-outlaw regime in Israel), the U.S. is now joining with Israel’s invasion of Iran, no longer merely by supplying its weapons.
