Why only idiots will vote for the Democratic Party or the Republican Party on November 5th

Eric Zuesse (blogs at https://theduran.com/author/eric-zuesse/)

Here is the idiot-pitch for Trump, quoting from the letter that the Republican Party sent out, dated on 28 June 2024, to registered Republicans (in this case, one who had actually died in 1996):

Dear — [the recipient’s first name],

I am running for President of the United States to take our country back.

Joe Biden and the Washington Swamp Democrats hate our country, are destroying our nation, put America last, and are running us into the ground.

No other President has ever done what I did. We lived up to our promise to put America First and Make America Great Again.

1. Our Trump Administration delivered the greatest economy the world has ever known.

2. We delivered huge tax cuts and reforms.

3. We negotiated fair trade deals and brought back manufacturing.

4. We were energy independent and one step away from energy dominance.

5. Russia. China. North Korea. Iran. We were tough on them. They respected us. …

Our rivals have skipped past Socialism and gone directly to Marxism and Communism. They are destroying everything that made America great.

We had a safe, secure, protected border, and they opened it wide. …

I will fight for a Constitutional Amendment to support term limits for Members of Congress. I will fix our economy by cutting spending, regulations, and taxes. I will secure our border and keep career criminals in prison where they belong. I will keep America out of foolish wars with a policy of peace through strength. And it is no mystery how the next Trump Administration will get us to energy independence and dominance, The answer is the liquid gold under our feet. …

Sincerely,

Donald J. Trump

45th President of the United States

PS: .. I need you to help now with a contribution. … Let’s Make America Great Again!

Of course, it’s all distortions, lies, and bumper-stickers (not real problems and real solutions to those ACTUAL problems), designed for conservative fools. For example: let’s take his “The answer is the liquid gold under our feet.”:

Here are the top ten “Oil Reserves by Country”:

Country

Oil Reserves (barrels) in 2016

World Share

1 Venezuela 299,953,000,000  18.2%

2 Saudi Arabia 266,578,000,000  16.2%

3 Canada 170,863,000,000  10.4%

4 Iran 157,530,000,000  9.5%

5 Iraq 143,069,000,000  8.7%

6 Kuwait 101,500,000,000  6.1%

7 United Arab Emirates 97,800,000,000  5.9%

8 Russia 80,000,000,000  4.8%

9 Libya 48,363,000,000  2.9%

10 Nigeria 37,070,000,000  2.2%

America isn’t even in the top 10. But Trump’s letter promises that this will be enough so that “the next Trump Administration will get us to energy independence and dominance.”

It’s obviously a lie. But his letter is aimed at conservative fools, who will believe it.

So: where then IS the U.S. on that list? Here it is, #11:

11 United States 35,230,000,000  2.1%

It’s 2.1% of world petroleum reserves. There is no way that America can even POSSIBLY become dominant on either the reserves or the production of petroleum-based energy. Energy “independence” is possible, if we can afford to waste enough money so as to achieve that goal — but NEITHER ENERGY INDEPENDENCE NOR ENERGY DOMINANCE is a goal that the American public ought to be concerned about: only America’s super-rich, individuals whose main goal is imperialistic supremacy, are obsessed with their status, instead of with the public’s welfare.

In order for the conservative fool to not be a fool, he/she will also need to know that not all oil is equally expensive to refine and get to market. For examples: Venezuela and Canada — especially Canada — have the costliest oil to refine, because it is overwhelmingly (in Canada’s case, 97%) tar-sands oil, the toughest (costliest) to refine. By contrast, Saudi Arabia has the easiest-to-refine oil. Saudi Arabia is therefore by far the country that’s #1 on the dollar-value of its petroleum reserves (which is what ACTUALLY counts).

Okay, so, Republican fools trust a Republican liar. But what about Democratic fools? Are they any brighter?

Here’s a truthful video which argues that they aren’t:

Of course, democracy cannot function that way: it cannot function by appealing to the public’s prejudices, but ONLY by appealing to the public’s open-mindedness and intelligence. Otherwise, it degenerates into a contest between one group of billionaires, the Democratic group, versus another group of billionaires, the Republican group. It is then an aristocracy — of, by, and for, the billionaires, against the public. It works for the aristocracy, the super-rich, by distracting and fooling the public by appealing to either liberal fools or else conservative fools. Once a nation degenerates to that, aristocracy instead of authentic democracy, it is ripe for a revolution, because this is a dictatorship, not a democracy at all.

Both the Republican Party and the Democratic Party represent only the exploiters, NOT the exploited.

Investigative historian Eric Zuesse’s latest book, AMERICA’S EMPIRE OF EVIL: Hitler’s Posthumous Victory, and Why the Social Sciences Need to Change, is about how America took over the world after World War II in order to enslave it to U.S.-and-allied billionaires. Their cartels extract the world’s wealth by control of not only their ‘news’ media but the social ‘sciences’ — duping the public.
