Biniam Girmay wins post-tour criterion Herentals

Green jersey winner Biniam Girmay won the Heylen Vastgoed post-Tour criterium in Herentals on Thursday evening. In the sprint he was faster than Tour legend Mark Cavendish and young talent Arnaud De Lie.

Home rider Steff Cras caught the eye in front of 25,000 spectators with a breakaway in the final. In the final lap he was overtaken by Cees Bol, Cavendish's teammate.

In the 35th round, the organization of the post-Tour criterium had something special in store for 'King Cav': the British national anthem sounded through the speakers, a tribute to the 35 stages that the legendary Briton won in the Tour.

Afterparty after Tour criterium Herentals/ DECA Danst
The rain couldn't spoil the party afterwards. The Grote Markt in Herentals was full of cycling fans and music lovers. DJs DOUBLE-U, FOU (alias Frank Verstraeten) and Milano set the afterparty of DECA Danst on fire.
