Here are the individuals who actually control the U.S. Government.
7 February 2025, by Eric Zuesse. (All of my recent articles can be seen here.)
Here are the top 25 known donors to the 2024 U.S. presidential contest between Trump v. Harris. The top one was Elon Musk’s $279 million given to Trump’s campaign, and the top five known donors to the 2024 U.S. presidential contest all likewise gave to Trump’s campaign and they collectively totaled almost exactly a billion dollars for Trump. The sixth also donated to Trump — $100 million. The seventh likewise donated to Trump — $82 million. So, that’s 1,162 million dollars collectively, from merely those seven known donors. (Those sums exclude dark — hidden — money, which might even be more than the money that’s not hidden. For example, on 22 August 2022, the Democratic Party billionaire Newhouse family’s CNN headlined “Massive dark money windfall: New conservative group got $1.6 billion from single donor”.)
Here’s an example of how that works: One of the 25 known megadonors was Jeffrey Yass, who had “a $33 billion stake in Tik Tok.” On 18 March 2024, Forbes headlined “Billionaire Jeff Yass May Be The Donor Behind Trump’s TikTok FlipFlop” and wrote about the “sudden change of heart that saw Donald Trump oppose banning the Chinese-owned video app despite having tried to do it himself while in office.”
This approach toward Government is sometimes called “libertarianism,” or “neoliberalism,” or “conservatism,” or ‘privatization’ (of Government) by other names, but it basically is the belief that a person’s merit, or “worth,” is that person’s net worth — it’s how rich the individual is (and therefore the controlling owners of megacorporations are the best people of all); so, that is just the way things OUGHT to be, as libertarians view the world — and is not ONLY the way that things actually are in (deeply corrupt countries such as) the United States. This is governmental rule on the same basis that determines the control of a corporation: one-dollar-one-vote (whomever owns the most shares wins), not one-person-one-vote (not real democracy); America’s Government is just an enormous corporation representing its megacorporations (Mussolini even praised his “fascism” — the original one — as being “corporationism”); and all of the controlling stockholders in it are billionaires, those 25 having been the biggest ones in 2024.
This system functions because only the billionaires are so wealthy as to be able to spend whatever it takes in order to get their Party to nominate a person, and then to get either the Democratic Party’s billionaires’ nominee, or else the Republican Party’s billionaires’ nominee (both of whom are fascist or “corporationist,” or libertarian — whatever name one might attach to this ideology), to win that contest between the contesting billionaires. This “libertarianism” maximizes liberty for the billionaires (since it gives them not only what they own, but the Government, which they control). Politicians’ promises to the mere electorate tend consequently to be just lies, but the promises to their megadonors never are. The more secret a promise is, the likelier it is to become fulfilled (because the control is secret). This is the modern-day way in which any aristocracy — and NO democracy — functions. ONLY the aristocrats — in today’s parlance the billionaires — actually rule. It is called “the Deep State.” Because pulling the strings requires a lot of “pull,” and ONLY the billionaires have enough of it to get that job (the job of ruling the country) done. Every aristocracy has functioned this way throughout the past thousands of years. It used to be called “feudalism” during the agrarian age, but started being called “fascism” ever since the 1920s — the industrial and now post-industrial ages.
The U.S. Government has been like this ever since (according to the scientific analyses that have been done) at least 1980. But the aristocracy’s control over America’s Government actually started on 25 July 1945 — with Truman’s decision he made that day, to start the Cold War, and the military-industrial complex, and begin building the American empire to take over the entire world. Trump, like Biden and Harris and Obama and the Clintons and the Bushes and Reagan, is a Trumanite. They’re all “neoconservatives.” In foreign affairs, the differences between the billionaires’ two political Parties are small to nil. And foreign affairs utimately shape domestic affairs.
So, in 2024, since all seven of the biggest (known) donors were backing Trump, and they collectively donated at least 1,162 million dollars to Trump, what about the Harris (Biden) donors? The biggest 6 of them donated a total of $211 million to her campaign; and they were the only ones among the top 25 known donors. Meanwhile, the smaller among the top Trump donors that were on the list of 25, had donated to Trump’s campaign a total of $320 million, so that, among all of the Trump donors who were on that list of the top 25, the Trump campaign received $320 million plus $1,162 million, or a grand total of $1,482 million, from 19 individuals. (That still isn’t as big as the “Massive dark money windfall: New conservative group got $1.6 billion from single donor”. As the New York Times reported about that donation, which came from a so-called ‘non-profit’ — all of which should be illegal — “These actions by the super wealthy are actually costing the American taxpayers to support the political spending of the wealthiest Americans.” The donation was a tax-dodge. It’s a perfectly hypocritical fascist country; and, because of how hypocritical — ‘do-gooding’ — it is, the public are hopelessly deceived about what it actually IS.)
These 19 individuals (Trump’s public megadonors) own Trump. This doesn’t necessarily mean Trump will do nothing that any one of them opposes, but instead that his Presidency will likely serve each one of them on the basis of the percentage of his grand total campaign funding that came from the given particular megadonor. For example, Elon Musk’s $279 million donation is around ten times Diane Hendricks’s $29 million donation; so, to Trump, Musk is worth about ten of Hendricks. Of course, he might not be intelligent enough to be such a perfectly “transactional” politician; but, if he were, then that is how he would set his policy-priorities. It is a thoroughly business-like way to run a country. But is this the way that a country should be run?
PS: If you like this article, please email it to all your friends or otherwise let others know about it. None of the U.S.-and-allied ‘news’-media will likely publish it (nor link to it, since doing that might also hurt them with Google or etc.). I am not asking for money, but I am asking my readers to spread my articles far and wide, because I specialize in documenting what the Deep State is constantly hiding — what the ‘news’-media ignore if they can, and deny if they must. This is, in fact, today’s samizdat.

Investigative historian Eric Zuesse’s latest book, AMERICA’S EMPIRE OF EVIL: Hitler’s Posthumous Victory, and Why the Social Sciences Need to Change, is about how America took over the world after World War II in order to enslave it to U.S.-and-allied billionaires. Their cartels extract the world’s wealth by control of not only their ‘news’ media but the social ‘sciences’ — duping the public.
