ፈንቅል - ክዝከር ዝነብር! ኣየ ትብዓት ቆራጽነት ኣየ ሓሞት ትኲርነት ኣተሓሳስባ ሓደ ድልየት ንዕላማ መስዋእትነት ዘይትበቅቕ ንፉዕ ሓየት ዝሓረርካ ባጽዕ ወደብ ዝፈጸምካ ዘይሕሰብ ጎይታ ፈንቅል ጎይታ ነጻነት ጎይታ ልምዓት ጎይታ ዕብየት ኣድኒቐካ ናይ ብኡነት ፍሉይ ኢኻ ካብ ሰብ ፍጥረት ተዘካሪ ንዘንትእለት ወዲ ኤረይ ሰብኣይ ሰብኡት ፈጢርካያ ሃገር ስኒት ኲርዓት ዜጋ ዘይትሕምሩግ ተሓቢነ ኣቦይ ይሙት!

ኤርትራዊ ምሁር እቲ ዓውዲ ዮናታን ሰለሙን ግና፡ ኣብ ኤርትራ ቁጽሪ ብትግርኛ ክመሃር ከም ዝኽእል ብምግላጽ ነዚ ዝሕግዝ መምሃሪ መጻሕፍቲ የዳልው ኣሎ።
ስለምንታይ ብትግርኛ ክወሃብ ኣለዎ ዝብል ሓሳብ ከም ዘለዎ ንቢቢሲ ኣብ ዝሃቦ መግለጺ፡ "ዝኾነ ነገር ትምህርቲ ዝሓቖፈ፡ እንተድኣ ተረዲእካ ሓሳቡ፡ ኣመሃህርኡን ኣበጋግስኡን እንተድኣ ፈሊጥካዮ፤ ብናይ ኣዴኻ ቋንቋ ዘይትመሃረሉ ምኽንያት የለን ብዝብል ሓሳብ እየ ተበጊሰ።
"ምኽንያቱ ሒሳብ ካብ ምንታይ ይምንጩ፡ ካብ ምንታይ ይጅምር፡ ብኸመይ ከ ክመሃር ኣለዎ? እቲ ቀንዲ መሰረቱ እንተተረዲእኻ፤ ብናይ ኣዴኻ ቋንቋ'ውን ጌርካ ኩሉ ክትገልጾ ትኽእል ኢኻ፤ እዚ ድማ ዝሓሸ መረዳእታ ክህልወካ ሓጋዚ ይኸውን ብዝብል እየ ጀሚረዮ" ይብል።
ኣብ ኤርትራ ካብ 6ይ ክፍሊ ንላዕሊ መምሃሪ ቋንቋ እንግሊዝኛ እዩ። ብዘይካ'ዚ ትግርኛ ኣብ ኤርትራን ኣብ ኢትዮጵያን ጥራይ ዝዝውተር ቋንቋ እዩ።
ቅርጽታት ቁጽሪ
ሓደ ተማሃራይ ቁጽሪ ብትግርኛ ተማሂሩ፡ ተመሪቑ፡ ኣብ ካልእ ዓለም ክሰርሓሉ ይኽእል'ዶ ዝብል ሕቶ ክለዓል ባህርያዊ እዩ። ዮናታን ግና እዚ ዕንቅፋት ኣይኸውንን ዝብል ርእይቶ እዩ ዘለዎ። "ሕሳብ - ቁጽሪ ኣድማሳዊ ቋንቋ እዩ። እዚ ማለት ኩሉ ነገር ኣብ ዓለም ዝስራሕ ዘበለ፡ ብዓቐን እዩ ዝስራሕ ከይዓቀንካ ዝስራሕ የለን። ሕጂ ብኸመይ ትምህሮ እዩ እቲ ጉዳይ። "ኣብ ኣሜሪካ ምጻእ ኣብ ኤርትራ ምጻእ፡ ከይዓቀንካ ዝስራሕ ስለዘየለ፤ መምርሒ ተኸቲልካ ስለትሰርሖ፤ ብቋንቋ ትግርኛ ምሃሮ ብእንግሊዝኛ እቲ ኣሰራርሓ ሓደ እዩ።" ይብል ዮናታን።
ኣቶ ዮናታን፡ ዛጊት ብመጽሓፍ ደረጃ ዘይተሓትመ ንታሪኽን ኣመዓባብላን ቁጽሪ ዝገልጽ ሰነዳት ኣዳልዩ ከም ዘሎን፡ ነቲ ንነዊሕ ዓመታት ክሓስበሉ ዝጸንሐ ትምኒቱ ኣብ ግብሪ ክውዕል'ዩ ዝትስፎ።
"ድሕሪኡ ከኣ ንሕና'ኸ ብኣተሓሳስባና እንታይ ክነፍርይ ንኽእል? እንታይ ክንሰርሕ ንኽእል እንታይ ክንምህዝ ንኽእል? በቲ ናይ ገዛእ ርእስና ምስትውዓል'ውን፡ ምስ ናትና ዝኸይድ ኣተሓሳስባ'ውን ሓድሽ ነገር ሰሪሕና፡ ንዓለም ክነፍርይ ክነበርክት ንኽእል ኢና ብዝብል እዩ።
"ስለዚ እቲ ቀንዲ ዘድልየካ ምርዳእ እዩ። እንተፈሊጥካዮ ብዝኾነ ቋንቋ ክትምህሮ ስለ ትኽእል፡ ወላ ሓንቲ ጸገምን ሽግርን ኣየምጽኣልካን እዩ። እኳ ደኣ ዝያዳ የበርትዓካን የጉርሓካን ንዓኻ፤ ኣብ መጨረስታ ድማ ድላይካ ምህዞታት ናትካ ክትምህዝ ትኽእል" ድማ ይብል።
ይኹን'ምበር እቲ ሓሳብ ኣብ ግብሪ ክውዕል እንተኾይኑ፡ ቋንቋ ትርግርኛ ጥራይ ምምራጹ፡ ንባዕሉ ፖለቲካዊ መዘዝ ዘስዕብ'ዩ።
ኣብ ኤርትራ፡ ቋንቋ መሳርሒ ጥራይ ዘይኮነ፡ ምስ መንነት ዝተኣሳሰር ፖለቲካዊ ትርጉም ዘለዎ'ዩ። ቋንቋ ትግርኛ ጥራይ ምጥቃም ነቲ ከም ካልኣይ ወግዓዊ ንቋንቋ ዘገልግል ዓረብ ይኹን፡ ንተዛረብቲ ካልኦት ቋንቋታት ከግልል ስለዝኽእል።
ንሱ'ውን ከይኮነ ኣይተርፍን፡ ካብ ማእከላይ ክሳብ ላዕለዎት ትካላት ትምህርቲ እግሊዝኛ እቲ እንኮ መምሃሪ ኮይኑ ከገልግል ዝተወሰነሉ ምኽንያት።
ዮናታን ቅድሚ ሒደት መዓልትታት ናብ ኤርትራ ኣብ ዝገሸሉ፡ ኣብ ኢንስቲትዩት ቴክኖሎጂ ኤርትራ፡ ቁጽሪ፡ ናይ ምምሃር ዕድል ረኺቡ ነይሩ።
ነቲ ዘንቀሎ ሓሳብን እማመን ንሰብ-መዚ ትምህርቲ ኣካፊልዎም እንተኾይኑ ምስ ተሓተተ ድማ፡ ኣፈናዊ ርክብ ከም ዝገበረን፡ ይኹን'ምበር ብሕጂ ዓቲቡ ነቲ እማመ ከቕርቦ መደብ ከም ዘለዎ ገሊጹ።

Having said all that, I forgot to add my congratulations to Prime Minister Abiy. Not that he would read this message, but to acknowledge and express that as long as he is committed to peace with Eritrea, and as long he earns our government's trust and continues to work with him, I wish him success! I hope he succeeds in taming his country for the sake of all the people of the Horn of Africa. The challenges this region in particular and the continent of Africa in particular will be facing in extracting itself from poverty to the assert its dignity and equal standing among the people of the world is immense. Only the Weyane and their collaborating groups, be it Eritreans or Ethiopians fail to understand that!
Many comments and questions have arisen regarding PM Abiy Ahmed's award of the Nobel Peace Prize. Perhaps the most important came from those who asked, "The peace agreement between Eritrea and Ethiopia is a significant move, but it takes two to make peace and the relevant organization should have included our president! In fact it is Eritrea that extended its openness to peace by abiding by the treaty it has signed!'
That is absolutely TRUE! However, for the West, who have been denigrating President Isaias Afworki and along with him the whole nation for over 20 years, to the extent of effecting a regime change, to award him one of their most coveted prizes would have been extremely self-contradictory. It would have been tantamount to admitting their organization is contemptible and irrelevant. Would they do that? Absolutely not!
Fortunately for Eritrea, PIA does what he does for the principle of it and primarily for the benefit of his people. Not for recognition by the West nor anyone else. His unrelenting stand and efforts to elevate the region to cooperation and mutually beneficial advancement of the welfare of the Horn of Africa region's population makes him a statesman among everyone who is well informed. I personally wish him success in this endeavor for the region's sake.
The other question/comment goes like this: "PM Abiy is being awarded for doing what he is supposed to do. He doesn't deserve to be awarded." Some even have asked why Ethiopia and its leader should be rewarded for holding the region hostage for 20 years?
PM Abiy made a courageous decision by deciding to do the right thing. In a country where spoiled TPLF warlords have been cuddled and pampered by the West like babies, where as a consequence of the complacence of the West they have been able to pursue their creation of chaos for the sake of the realization of Abay Tigray, Abiy was a dream-buster! One can see that by how much their almost viral presence on the internet where they dish out countless of childish nonsense. The TPLF is still bent on creating havoc in the region! Their handy work will continue to manifest itself for decades to come.
Talking about pampering, remember when a British diplomat said that they begged them to leave Badime for they would build them another Badime? Unbelievable, isn't it?

There is a perception among some Eritreans that we are not writing enough about our struggle for Independence, and that this has let the Weyane (TPLF), former Derg and Haile Selassie civilian and military officials and others to rewrite and disseminate a false version of it. Is it true or is it just a perception?
I think that some are not aware of how much the Ministry of Information dedicates its time and energy to the matter. Take for example "Medeb Kebhi Tarikh". This program on Dimtsi Hafash is a narration of the heroic defense and eventual victory of the EPLA against the many offensives launched by the Ethiopian army after the Strategic Withdrawals of the late 1970's. Our history is also told through the documentaries and interviews of those who participated in the various major operations conducted to liberate the country on EriTv, Eritrean newspapers and Dimtsi Hafash regularly . For example, all of these sources discuss about Operation Fenkil and have some programs related to it, come February. I have personally read, heard and watched programs of this kind and others about auxiliary operations and the role of individuals (in the EPLA and hafash), commandos, platoons, battalions, brigades etc. from the same sources. I can mention Mana's programs on the role of women fighters in these operations in her "Saida," and formerly "Norit" programs, to name at least one.
Of course there are so many untold stories worth telling. These will require individual efforts on the parts of the fighters who were in the Struggle and others. These stories are awaiting for someone skillful in writing their own stories, for writing is not as simple as telling one's story verbally. Stories from those who have no desire nor skills of writing stories can be compiled by other individuals. Students and graduates of history and languages might be the obvious candidates for such a task and those interested should consider doing so in order to keep them in books and documentary films for posterity.
Perhaps what compatriots who complain about not telling enough of our stories mean that there are no books directed towards Ethiopians, for they are the ones who have the tendency to revise our history. Here, we have to remember that the writers perhaps have the psychological need to legitimize their role in the colonization of Eritrea and the war waged against keeping Eritrea as part of Ethiopia for, we are told that these are former civilian and military officials. In addition, there is the need to deny one's responsibility and that you have lost the war. For these, as PIA would say, "We are not in the business of curing those who have mental illness!" They will continue what they want to say and it is not up to us to keep them quiet.
As for the Ethiopian masses, it was the peasants of Ethiopia who had to lose their children to the fruitless war against Eritrea. What they knew about Eritrea was almost nothing. Perhaps the present generation knows is a little more about Eritrea (In fact, I even dare say that MORE ETHIOPIANS TODAY ACCEPT ERITREAN INDEPENDENCE THAN EVER BEFORE!). Here too, I have watched some interviews with some high ranking Ethiopian soldiers telling truthful stories. (Even in the 1980's, there was a saying in Ethiopia: "Ke mekina, Ifa; ke wugia, Nakfa"! Translation: Of all trucks/lorries that have ever been made, Ifa is the worst; and of all battles that have ever been waged, there are none worse than those waged to takeover Nakfa! That was the Ethiopian perspective of then.)
No matter what Ethiopians write or say, a true historian or anyone interested in learning the truth will have to investigate both sides of any story. Those who think we should write for Ethiopian audiences as well as for others who might need to learn about Eritrea, should consider writing or translating the existing stories into the major Ethiopian languages and other languages such as English, French, German, Italian, . . . if we have the interest, time, patience and energy that it requires.
While we do what we consider is the best way to keep the truth about the past, we should also keep appreciating and making the best out of the peaceful and friendly conditions reached with Ethiopia, and keep the Weyane at bay!
